I. General Information

Duration: 36 contact hours
Pre-requisite(s) : None
Maximum Number of Participants: 15
Materials: PMBOK® Third Edition, Handouts, Project Case Study,
Templates, Tests and Exercises.

II. Course Description

This course provides the basic tools and techniques to apply project management methodology to any endeavor. The participants will develop a project using a real case study. The last day the participants will obtain the case study resolution for their future use and reference. The students will also receive a CD with project templates. The participants will learn how to:

1. Use Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)

2. Implement project management process groups

3. Understand project management knowledge areas

4. Develop a project from start to finish

This course will provide to the participants a higher degree of understanding of the project management basics necessary to take the PMP ® exam. This course will based on PMI’s A Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) ® Third Edition.

III. Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will:

1. Identify and apply the five (5) process groups and the nine (9) knowledge areas in all project endeavors.

2. Establish how each specific process and activity relates to each other.

3. Understand PMI® definitions and acronyms.

4.Develop a project according Project Management best practices (Project Management Body of Knowledge).
